Year 6 camp at Phillip Island
Young Leaders Conference
Last Friday the student leadership team attended The National Young Leaders Day at the Melbourne Convention Centre. The purpose of going was to develop our leadership skills and to become better leaders for the school. But it was also a very exciting day and we had lots of fun. At the conference we were very fortunate to hear Mike Martin- the executive director of the Halogen Foundation, Bindi Irwin, Andy Griffiths, Jess Gallagher- Australian Paralympian and Coen Ashton – lung transplant survivor speak.
Overall we had a great day. So on behalf of the Student Leadership Team we would like to thank Mr Rooks, Mrs Ball and Sue for taking us and the school for giving us the opportunity to attend such an amazing conference.
Imandie and Imogen
As part of our introduction to 2015, Year 6 students were asked to create a personal shield which was an avenue to share a little bit about themselves with their new classmates. They also completed a bioglyph activity. They were required to use a code to draw themselves and then class members had to guess who they were by analysing the symbols used.
Here are some examples from all four grades.
